Our current fundraising challenges are listed below. We will be posting more details as they become available.

Did you know you can help AFI raise money just by surfing the internet? Well you can! Visit Goodsearch.com whenever you want to do a search for internet resources. Simply select the Aniridia Foundation International as the charity to support and every time you use GoodSearch they will donate money to AFI. So use it every time you search and tell your friends to use it too. Eveey penny counts!

Many companies sponsor charitable contribution programs. Some use annual events promoted through company automatic payroll deductions, others encourage employees to donate to company authorized charities during the holidays or in times of crisis, and others choose to make donations at the corporate level with a one time check. Whichever way your employer uses, you can help them to get involved with Aniridia Foundation International!

Many companies that use payroll deductions or annual events use the United Way organization to direct employees to beneficial organizations. The United Way provides a listing of local or national charities and the employees can select which ones to donate to. If your company uses such a program, contact them about adding AFI to the list that your coworkers can contribute to. If your company does not have such a program, start a campaign to set one up. Either way, you can obtain more information about these programs by visiting the United Way website.

If your employer does not have a regular charity program or is not interested in setting up one, you may want to ask them about either sponsoring one of our AFI events or even sending in a tax deductable donation. Most companies have at least some budget set aside for such worthy causes.

We are focusing our current fundraising efforts on supporting the structure and stability of the Aniridia Foundation International. This money will keep the network growing and help to obtain additional resources.

Our new goal is to raise $40,000 by 12/31/2007. This will be accomplished in three phases. We really need everybodys help as we are only at $11,268 and have just a few weeks left to reach our goal!

Phase 1 is currently underway. From September 1-31, 2007 the members of the fundraising committee will be sending out letters requesting donations from family members, friends, and co-workers. With an estimated average of $25 donation, we hope to obtain about $9000 of our year end goal.

Phase 2 will go from October 1 to November 31, 2007 and will have all willing AFI members send out donation request letters to everybody they know. Members will be contacted by Jill Nerby via email with details on how they can help raise money and awareness of the organization that helps Aniridics worldwide.
